Summer is starting to wrap up, and soon it will be fall. Many people adore fall for its crisp air and vivid foliage. They especially like fall if they've been mowing their lawns all summer and are ready for a break. They'll probably be mowing for a little while longer, though, because Colorado autumns tend to be mild and heated in the middle by what we call "Indian Summer." However, that doesn't mean you can't get started prepping your landscape to go to sleep and embrace fall in all of its glory at the same time.

Give your lawn a little TLC.

Your lawn has been working hard all summer, and there's a good chance it's starting to fade. This is normal. Stay on top of watering to give it the strongest finish possible. If it loads up with leaves, rake the leaves up to make sure they don't choke the grass later. This can also be a good time to patch up brown spots.

Spruce up your front door.

This doesn't have much to do with your yard, but it can make a big difference for your property has a whole. Your front door is a focal point when it comes to curb appeal, and a simple wreath can take your home's appearance to the next level. You can also consider painting your door a vivid color to make it more welcoming.

Install autumn flowers.

Spring flowers are charming and summer flowers are glorious, but fall flowers can be stunning, especially because people don't always expect them. They think summer is over and the time for flowers is over. Cabbages, mums, grasses, and vines come in a wide variety of lovely fall colors and can add a whole new dimension to your autumn yard.
